Mr. Machann's practice focuses on maritime transactions and litigation, including oil and hazardous materials spill incidents involving application of the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA 90), the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA),
and the Texas Oil Spill Prevention and Response Act (OSPRA); vessel arrests and attachments; vessel collisions and allisions, Limitation of Liability actions under 46 U.S.C. § 181, et seq.; cargo casualties on behalf of vessel owners, charterers, stevedores and cargo interests; personal injury claims arising under state, federal and maritime law; wrongful death claims under state law and the Death on the High Seas Act (DOHSA); as well as other complex commercial litigation.

Additionally, Mr. Machann's practice consists of the arbitration and litigation of charter party and bill of lading disputes, as well as bunker supply and other maritime contract disputes.
